Axial Skeleton

The Vertebral Column consists of the Cervical Vertebrae (C1-C7 neck), Thoracic Vertebrae (T6-T12 mid-back), Lumbar Vertebrae (L1-L5 lower back), Sacrum and Coccyx. This page will explain what each vertebrae connection is and the Misalignment Symptoms. Example: if you are having problems with the middle ear, the C 1 Atlas could be out of alignment. If nerves are pinched, full energy is not getting to the organs and tissue. This, in turn, may lead to weakness or decline in a certain organ. Various forms of trapped energies may affect the energy flow from the vertebrae to organs and tissues–sort of a “brown out.”

C 1 (Atlas) connects to: Blood supply to the head, pituitary gland, scalp, bones of the face, brain inner and middle ear, sympathetic nervous system, eyes, ears. Misalignment Symptoms: Headaches, nervousness, insomnia, head colds, high blood pressure, migraine headaches, mental conditions, nervous breakdowns, amnesia, sleeping sickness, chronic tiredness, dizziness or vertigo.

C 2 (Axis) connects to: Eyes, optic nerves, auditory nerves, sinuses, mastoid bones, tongue, forehead, heart. Misalignment Symptoms: Sinus trouble, allergies, crossed eyes, deafness, eye troubles, earache, fainting spells, certain cases of blindness.

C 3 connects to: Cheeks, outer ear, face, bones, teeth, trifacial nerve, lungs. Misalignment Symptoms: Neuralgia, neuritis, acne or pimples, eczema.

C 4 connects to: Nose, lips, mouth, Eustachian tube, mucus membranes, lungs. Misalignment Symptoms: Hay fever, catarrh, hard of hearing, adenoids.

C 5 connects to: Vocal cords, neck glands, pharynx. Misalignment Symptoms: Laryngitis, hoarseness, throat conditions such as sore throat or tonsillar abscess.

C 6 connects to: Neck muscles, shoulders, tonsils. Misalignment Symptoms: Stiff neck, pain in upper arm, tonsillitis, whooping cough, croup.

C 7 connects to: Thyroid gland, bursa in the shoulders, elbows. Misalignment Symptoms: Bursitis, colds, thyroid conditions, goiter.

T 1 connects to: Arms from the elbows down, hands, wrists and fingers; esophagus and trachea, heart. Misalignment Symptoms: Asthma, cough, shortness of breath, pain in the lower arms and hands.

T 2 connects to: Heart, its valves and coronary arteries; lungs bronchial tubes. Misalignment Symptoms: Functional heart conditions and certain chest pains.

T 3 connects to: Lungs, bronchial, pleura, chest, breast, heart. Misalignment Symptoms: Bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia, congestion, influenza.

T 4 connects to: Gallbladder, common duct, heart, lungs, bronchial tubes. Misalignment Symptoms: Gallbladder conditions, jaundice, shingles.

T 5 connects to: Liver, solar plexus, circulation, heart, esophagus, stomach. Misalignment Symptoms: Liver conditions, fever, low blood pressure, anemia, poor circulation, arthritis.

T 6 connects to: Stomach, esophagus, peritoneum, liver, duodenum. Misalignment Symptoms: Stomach problems, including nervous stomach, indigestion heartburn, dyspepsia, etc.

T 7 connects to: Kidneys, appendix, testes, ovaries, uterus, adrenal cortex, spleen, pancreas, large intestine. Misalignment Symptoms: Diabetes, ulcers, gastritis.

T 8 connects to: Spleen, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, adrenal cortex, small intestine, pyloric valve. Misalignment Symptoms: Hiccups, lowered resistance.

T 9 connects to: Adrenal cortex, pancreas, spleen, gallbladder, ovaries, uterus, small intestine. Misalignment Symptoms: Allergies, hives.

T 10 connects to: Kidneys, appendix, testes, ovaries, uterus, adrenal cortex, spleen, pancreas, large intestine. Misalignment Symptoms: Kidney troubles, hardening of the arteries, chronic tiredness, nephritis, inflammation of kidneys.

T 11 connects to: Kidneys, ureters, large intestine, urinary bladder, adrenal medulla, adrenal cortex, uterus, ovaries, ileocecal valve. Misalignment Symptoms: Skin conditions like acne, pimples, eczema, or boils.

T 12 connects to: Small intestine, lymph circulation, large intestine, urinary bladder, uterus, kidneys, ileocecal valve. Misalignment Symptoms: Rheumatism, gas pains, certain types of sterility.

L 1 connects to: Large intestine, inguinal rings, uterus. Misalignment Symptoms: Constipation, colitis, dysentery, diarrhea, ruptures or hernias.

L 2 connects to: Appendix, abdomen, upper leg, urinary bladder. Misalignment Symptoms: Appendicitis, cramps, difficult breathing, acidosis, varicose veins.

L 3 connects to: Sex organs, uterus, bladder, knee, prostate, large intestine. Misalignment Symptoms: Bladder troubles, menstrual troubles like painful or irregular periods, miscarriages, bed wetting, impotency, change of life symptoms, many knee pains.

L 4 connects to: Prostate gland, muscles of the lower back, sciatic nerve. Misalignment Symptoms: Sciatica, lumbago, difficult, painful or too frequent urination, backache.

L 5 connects to: Lower legs, ankles, feet, prostate. Misalignment Symptoms: Poor circulation in the legs, swollen ankles, weak ankles and arches, cool feet, weakness in the legs, leg cramps.

Sacrum (tailbone) connects to: Hip bones, buttocks, rectum, sex organs, genitalia, urinary bladder, ureter, prostate. Misalignment Symptoms: Sacroialic conditions, spinal curvatures.

Coccyx (tip of tailbone) connects to: Rectum, anus. Misalignment Symptoms: Hemorrhoids or piles, pruritis or itching, pain at the end of the spine on sitting.

A chiropractic adjustment may struggle to stay aligned if trapped energies are located in a vertebrae.
